PRIZES

Prizes 2005

Grand Prix Award - 10000 SEK

The Amateur Photographer
Reg. Irina Gedrovich, Russia

With very simple means the film depicts the malevolence found in the so-called "good human being". With due deference to what we call "moving" pictures, this film, with its specially composed musical score and its still photographs forces the senses of the viewer to move. This is why The Amateur Photographer is a worthy winner of the GRAND PRIX.

Silver Diploma - 5000 SEK

Hitlers Hit - Parade
Reg. Olivier Axer, Susanne Benze. Germany

A pioneering work utilizing only archive material with sound and picture it takes us on a roller coaster ride through time different from anything else where the wagons fly off the rails and eventually cost the lives of millions of people.

Beslan
Reg. Ekaterina Gabakova. North Osietia

Intimate, warm and strong about life that survives evil and death. A startling eight minute encounter with the age in which we live, participated in and made by those who experienced it. It is a film in which light suddenly bursts through the darkness.

A life to Live
Reg. Maciej Adamek, Poland

Joy in darkness of the blind. In this work we are forced to use all our senses. We can smell the fragrance of a fruit that a blind child sees with its hands.

A major work that has ended the shadows much like the folk group it depicts. A classic documentary that surpasses most others, constructed with a masterful research of old film archive material.
